Thankfully for Mezhgan Hussainy it seems she has been welcomed into the Cowell family with open arms.
The 36-year-old make-up artist appeared relaxed during a shopping trip with fiance Simon Cowell, his mother Julie, 84, and a friend in Beverly Hills over the weekend.
Mrs Cowell is understood to have flown to Los Angeles to visit her 50-year-old son, who is enjoying a short break before the new series of Britain's Got Talent begins next week.
Bur far from using the time to kick back and relax, the multi-millionaire X Factor judge is making arrangements for his wedding, which he hopes to hold in September.
He has already looked at venues in the U.S. and is also considering locations in Barbados and Venice. However, Mrs Cowell is believed to favour a simple church service back in the UK.
Cowell and Miss Hussainy, who met on U.S. talent show American Idol, are believed to have been secretly dating for months but only stepped out publicly together at the start of this year.
