The thighs have it: Katy Perry shows off a very short faded denim dress as she shopped in Los Angeles yesterday


If there was an award for the shortest hemline then we suspect Katy Perry would win by miles - or at least several centimetres.

The singer was photographed out shopping in Los Angeles yesterday in a very tight, faded minidress, possibly her shortest to date.

And despite her penchant for flashing her toned thighs, she was bang on trend in her denim, which is very much in season.


The I Kissed A Girl star, 25, tucked her hand through a male friend's arm as she went shopping for a gift for her fiance Russell Brand.

From the looks of the fancy shopping bag, she had been to West Hollywood's trendy clothing store H Men.

She tottered along on wedged clog-esque clunky shoes, her black Chanel bag hanging off her shoulder as she made her way to her car.

She has been snapped out an about in the last few weeks in her trademark short dresses including a flat-hunting trip with Brand, 35, in New York recently.

However, once home, she ditched the knicker-skimming dress for something rather more elegant as she got ready for the 27th Annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards last night.

Katy posed on the red carpet at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in an stunning, floor-length grey dress covered in pink and grey polka dots.

The ceremony, which honours the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, recognises the writers and publishers of ASCAP's most performed songs of the past year.

She won two awards for her hit singles Hot 'N' Cold and Waking Up In Vegas and looked utterly delighted as she went on stage to collect them.

Other songs honored during the private dinner ceremony included the Black Eyed Peas' Boom Boom Pow, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' Empire State of Mind and Beyonce's Single Ladies.


And the winner is.....Katy beams with delight and throws her fist in the air after receiving two awards for her hit singles Hot 'N' Cold and Waking Up In Vegas


Perry was without Brand at the ceremony who she appears to be having a break from at the moment, as she was also seen at the Coachella Festival last weekend without her betrothed in tow.

But her gift to her man, who has been performing some stand-up gigs around the US this week, proved all is well between the celebrity couple, who are said to be planning a wedding in Japan at the end of the year.
