She was accused of engaging in a drug-fuelled one-night stand which led to her being sacked from her job in the space of a few days.

But despite the furore, it seems Peaches Geldof can count on the support of her new boyfriend, film director Eli Roth.

The pair were spotted out in Los Angeles together yesterday with Peaches looking in a cheerful mood with her man by her side.

It comes as Roth, 37, posted an impassioned defence of Peaches on his MySpace page amid allegations she injected heroin during a one night stand with American artist Ben Mills.

Mills posted naked pictures of the 21-year-old on the internet claiming they were taken during the night of debauchery last November.

It subsequently led to Peaches being fired by Michelle Mone as the face and body of underwear brand Ultimo after the firm said it no longer considered her a positive role model.

Peaches was said to be left devastated, promoting Eli to brand the allegations as 'horrible lies' which have affected her ability to work.

Roth, who starred alongside Brad Pitt in Inglourious Basterds, defended Peaches by writing an online message, addressed to the mother of Mills.

In the 1,200-word note, he wrote: 'Your son... took a bright, intelligent, incredibly creative young writer and damaged her ability to work until people forget about this or dismiss it as nonsense.

'Not only has (sic) your son's horrible lies painted Peaches as 'dangerous' to many who would potentially hire her, but companies like Ultimo Underwear are using this 'scandal' as a reason to fire Peaches by saying she is not a role model for young girls.

'These stories also send a dangerous message to anyone who has ever made a mistake, that no matter how much you change, someone can make up a sick story about you and everyone will revert to the worst image of your past.'

Roth insisted that Peaches has been clean for more than a year.
