Dannii Minogue's X Factor future looks safe after 'positive' meeting with show bosses

X Factor future? Dannii Minogue, pictured here with boyfriend Kris Smith at Heathrow airport yesterday, met with X Factor bosses today to discuss her future as a judge on the show

Pregnant Dannii Minogue’s future on the X Factor looks safe after she had a ‘positive’ meeting with show chiefs today.

The 38-year-old star, who is six months pregnant, will definitely miss the auditions for this year’s show as she will be flying back to Australia to have her first child in July.

However, it now seems that Simon Cowell and the other X Factor bosses will have guest judges for the auditions, before Miss Minogue returns for the judges' houses segment and the live shows.

A source close to the singer said she had enjoyed a lunch with X Factor executive producer Richard Holloway and said: ‘Dannii made it clear that she could definitely make it work.

‘She is very keen to work and could easily return for judges' houses, which is filmed in September.’

The judges' houses segment is where the judges whittle their final six contestants down to three hopefuls, who will perform on the live shows, which start in October.

Miss Minogue, currently starring in M&S adverts, admitted in February that she would have to miss auditions for the X Factor, saying she could only join Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh: ‘If they're auditioning in the hospital in Australia, yes, but otherwise, no!’

She added: ‘I will miss Cheryl, Louis and Simon, and not being there for the auditions, but I really need to be near my family in Australia at such an important time.’

The brunette, who joined the show in 2007, confirmed she would like to take part in the show in some capacity but was unsure how it would work.

She said: ‘I don't know what is happening with X Factor. I just adore it and I had such a fun time last year. I'd love to be part of it somehow even if I just pop back and visit.’

Last month, the Mail told how Mr Holloway and other X Factor executives had enjoyed a night out with fiery Spice Girl Mel B, fuelling rumours that she was being lined up for a role on the show.

Miss Minogue’s sister, popstar Kylie, had also been linked to a guest judge role on the show after joining her sister at judges' houses in Dubai last year.

Meanwhile, Miss Minogue this week seemingly dropped a clue that she was expecting a boy with her partner Kris Smith after picking up a black and grey sleepsuit at Melbourne Airport.
