House fit for a princess: Lady Gaga is reported to be renting this stunning $5million Bel Air mansion for $25,000 a month

Has Lady Gaga got money to burn?

The 24-year-old pop star is said to have snapped up a $5million (£3.28m) Los Angeles mansion which she is shelling out $25,000 (£16,400) a month in rent.

Many might ask why the wacky singer is renting rather than buying when, presumably, she has more than enough money in the bank to muster a healthy deposit for a mortgage.

However, paper work aside, the residents of Bel Air are now set to get their very own pop princess moving into the neighbourhood.

Complete with one acre of grounds and huge swimming pool, the property boasts stunning views across Hollywood and the Pacific Ocean.

Bel Air is an affluent community in the hills of the Westside of the city.

Together with Beverly Hills and Holmby Hills it forms the Platinum Triangle of Los Angeles neighbourhoods.

Bel Air was also the location of the Nineties sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, starring Will Smith.

But with Lady Gaga currently on a world tour until next April, it's unlikely she'll get to spend much time at the house for a good while yet.

Back on? The singer is reportedly back on with bartender Luc Carl

Meanwhile there is ongoing speculation that Lady Gaga and her former boyfriend, bartender Luc Carl, have rekindled their romance.

The Paparazzi singer was spotted visiting the bar where her former beau works on Saturday night in New York.

She was was reportedly seen drinking red wine with her bodyguard by her side at the bar at St Jeromes, the venue where Carl is employed.

'She was playing it really cool. You would not have known they were together,' a witness told the New York Post.

Rumours about the couple are such that staff at the hip bar have been told to tell anyone enquiring Carl to deny knowing him, with a sign near the telephone that instructs them to say to callers: 'I don't know Luc.'

The star took her Monster Ball tour to Canada over the weekend and tonight is set to play in Cleveland, Ohio.
