Alesha Dixon takes to the stage in sexy black basque... and not much else

Underwear as outerwear: Alesha Dixon performed at the Wigan Life Tuned-In Concert series last night wearing a very sexy outfit

We've not heard much from Alesha Dixon in recent months.

But the 31-year-old singer made a triumphant return to the stage in Wigan last night when she took the current underwear as outerwear trend to the extreme by wearing a sexy basque, covered only by a sheer black dress.

Alesha looked stunning in the ensemble, which she teamed with shoe boots and a pink glittery cane and microphone.

Alesha was performing for fans at the Wigan Life Tuned-In Concert series alongside N-Dubz.

The singer has been in Los Angeles working on Unleashed - the follow-up to her 2008 album The Alesha Show - and recently revealed the first single from the record will be called Drummer Boy, out in August.

The album is expected to be released later in the year.

Alesha, who first shot to fame as part of band Mis-Teeq, has collaborated with stars including Toby and Miranda Cooper, who co-wrote her hit The Boy Does Nothing, and
Buzbee, who wrote Bad Boys for Alexandra Burke.

The singer has also been working with Take That star Gary Barlow, whom she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with for Comic Relief last year.

She said recently: 'I’ve been speaking to Gary Barlow a lot, he’s become a good friend.

'We’re going to be working again together on my next album, which I’m already busy working on.'

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed Alesha is unlikely to be returning for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing later this year.

Alesha, who famously caused an ageism row when she was chosen to replace Arlene Phillips on the judging panel, is said to be determined to focus on her music rather than presenting.

A source said earlier this year: 'We hear she is not coming back – no one knows why. Maybe it’s because of all the controversy last year.

'She has said she is taking some time off and wants to focus on her music career.’

Flirty frills: N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos also performed at the concert in a denim mini-dress
