Thrilled fans mob Robert Pattinson... shame he's only a waxwork

By Lizzie Smith

Finally! Fans embrace Robert Pattinson's new waxwork figure at Madame Tussauds in London

Fan Katie Sear, 23, from Luton, Bedfordshire, said: 'The figure looks really great! Just like him - his hair is spot on.

Fans were queueing to snuggle up to the R-Patz figure, which had the same ghostly pallor as his character, Edward Cullen.

His waxwork's clothing echoes the rugged style of his Twilight films, dressed in an open-collared shirt and skinny trousers, with tousled hair and a sultry expression.

Fan Katie Sear, 23, from Luton, Bedfordshire, said: 'The figure looks really great! Just like him - his hair is spot on.

Spot the difference: The waxwork, left, looks as realistic as the real thing, seen at the Remember Me premiere in London last week

'It's amazing, almost like meeting the real thing! I'm sure people are going to love it; he is just gorgeous!'
Tussauds spokeswoman Liz Edwards said: 'R-Patz is one of the hottest celebs on the planet.

'We are delighted to be able to give them (the fans) the chance to cosy up with their idol here at Madame Tussauds and, judging by the reactions of the first to meet him here this morning, he is set to top our most-kissed list of celebrities very quickly

He can't get away: The waxwork will give many fans their only chance to meet the shy Twilight star

The figure took four months to create at a cost of £150,000.
A Pattinson figure is also being launched at Madame Tussauds New York today.

Last week the power of R-Patz was made clear when thousands of teenage fans turned out for the London premiere of his latest movie Remember Me.

The screaming could be heard across Leicester Square as Robert Pattinson stepped out his car.
