'Vernon Kay's worth fighting for': Tess Daly opens up on the BBC's The One Show last night about her husband's explicit sex texts to five other women
Tess Daly insists her marriage to fellow TV presenter husband Vernon Kay was 'worth fighting for' after he admitted sending explicit messages to a string of women.
Speaking for the first time on television about the revelations that surfaced last month, the Strictly Come Dancing host said she would stay with Kay as the couple had enjoyed '10 great years' together.
Keeping her composure as she took deep breaths, Daly told BBC's The One Show last night: 'It's been tough as you can imagine, but I've taken some time out to think things through and at the end of the day we've had 10 great years together, we've got two beautiful kids and we both think that's worth fighting for.'
Showing leg: Wearing a little red dress, Daly has a candid chat with hosts Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley
Former model Kay apologised to hundreds of thousands of listeners on his Radio 1 show after admitting to sending explicit texts to around five women.
The One Show host Adrian Chiles asked: 'In the public eye it's hard isn't it? You read about it in the papers. People mention it in the street.'
Daly, 40, who married Kay in 2003, replied: 'Dealing with it in private is difficult enough but dealing but with it in public is even harder, at the end of the day I've had so much support from everyone that I meet really, not just family and friends, that has really touched me a lot and has been amazing.'
She went on to chat to Chiles and co-host Christine Bleakley about her new book The Baby Diaries.
Earlier this month the celebrity couple made their first official appearance together since the texts revelations when they attended a Prince's Trust award ceremony

They shared a podium to help mark the achievements of young people who have turned their lives around.
Kay, 35, interrupted his weekly radio show last month to tell his two million listeners he had been 'foolish and stupid'.
Without referring directly to the texts, the All Star Family Fortunes presenter added that he had 'disappointed and let down a lot of people', saying: 'To my family and everybody else, I am very sorry.'
Daly made a second public appearance yesterday as she attended the the TRIC (Television and Radio Industries Club) Annual Awards in London.
She collected the gong for Best TV Reality Programme for Strictly Come Dancing, wearing a sheer lace black dress exposing her bra.
