Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have been lambasted in certain quarters for allowing daughter, Suri, to dress somewhat inappropriately for her age.

She's been spotted in heels and dresses, and was even photographed recently slathered in lipstick.

However, in this instance out with her parents and brother Connor, there's a rather more pressing fashion topic to be discussed.

What on earth is Katie wearing? The actress was pictured at the Superbowl earlier this month sporting a white play-suit.

Is it a romper suit, or is she planning to travel back in time and contest the Ladies' Singles at Wimbledon in 1935?

The family spent the day at the Superbowl where Suri was clearly Daddy's little girl as she cuddled up to father Tom Cruise.

And by the looks of things, the three-year-old has the actor eating out of her hand.

Tom, 47, has said: 'Suri's very much like her mother.

'She will not wear trousers, only dresses. I put a pair of trousers on her and turn and leave the room and straight away the trousers are off and a dress is on instead!
'The other day, Kate showed her some gold-colored sneakers thinking she might like to wear them, and she looked at them and said, "Oh mommy, these are lovely, but they're boy shoes.'"

'She's sweet, but she's very strong-willed -- just like her mother,' she added.
Suri has showcased a series of grown-up and girly looks of late.

She has stepped out with a make-up bag, has been seen browsing for make-up and has sported high heels.

But mother Katie has been criticised for allowing her to wear red lipstick on a trip the theatre in New York recently.
