Shakira's 'She Wolf' Gets Caught in Lawsuit

Art director Lee Swillingham, who designed the cover of Shakira's album 'She Wolf', has filed suit against Sony for owing him $64,000 for his services

The artist who designed the cover of Shakira's album "She Wolf" has filed suit against the pop star's label Sony - alleging company bosses owe him $64,000. Art director Lee Swillingham signed a $63,000 contract with the company in Spring 2009 for his services and was paid half the sum up front, reports the New York Post.

According to court documents, he earned $5,000 a day for extra work, totaling an additional $36,000. The contract included a clause stating Sony owes nothing if the record label isn't pleased with the final project.

Swillingham's lawyer, Sam Israel, has accused the company of falsely claiming it didn't find the work satisfactory while using the images Swillingham created for the album. A Sony spokesperson had not responded to requests for a comment as WENN went to press
