London Fashion Week: Nicola Roberts wows with a daring thigh-skimming at Vivienne Westwood's catwalk show

Fashionista: The Girls Aloud star has become a keen follower of fashion since the band lept to fame in 2002


Miss Roberts, who is to be the new face of Westwood's label, accessorised her outfit with a pair of black shoes with gems across the toes, and on the heels, together with a bright red heart shaped handbag by Vivienne Westwood herself.

She's slowly but surely morphed into a fashionista since her humble beginnings with Girls Aloud.

And Nicola Roberts proved she can pull off a show-stopping look when she made an appearance at Vivienne Westwood's Red Label ready-to-wear catwalk show at London Fashion Week.

The 24-year-old singer flashed the flesh in a revealing outfit made up of a black skirt that rode up well past her knee and a plunging black top held together with laces down the front at the event which was held at the Red Bull Fashion Factory.


Miss Roberts, who is to be the new face of Westwood's label, accessorised her outfit with a pair of black shoes with gems across the toes, and on the heels, together with a bright red heart shaped handbag by Vivienne Westwood herself.

She seemed to steal the limelight from other guests at the show, including Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Janet Jackson.

The sister of late pop superstar Michael arrived at the show wearing a grey blazer jacket, a black blouse, black trousers and an unusual pair of ankle boots.

Miss Roberts also outshone Pixie Geldof who was modeling for the label - taking her turn to strut down the catwalk in a variety of outfits.

The singer was pictured sitting next to T4 presenter Jameela, who wore a peach coloured dress with white polka dots with peach heels.

Chart-topping pop star Pixie Lott, who also attended PPQ's catwalk show, was at the event wearing a check waist length blazer over a black dress, tights and hells. She also sported a cute black bow in her hair and a swallow pendant.

Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts has become increasingly fashion-conscious since she became famous in 2002.

In the band's early years, she was often seen as the dowdy member of the group - however, in recent years she taken a vested interest in the world of fashion, attending shows in both London and Paris on a regular basis.

Just last month she was pictured wearing a pair of pop socks on a visit to the Radio 1 studios

The look has come straight off last year's catwalks, and has been cited as one of this seasons key trends, proof that her research is paying off.

She has stunned audiences all over the world with her energetic and creative dance routines when she performs live.

But according to Beyonce Knowles' husband Jay-Z, he is the real choreographer behind the moves that have made his wife a global sex symbol.

While the former performed for hundreds in Trinidad last night, the latter was a guest on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross following his appearance at The Brits earlier this week.

And although he is generally reluctant to open up about his marriage, the hip hop star spoke briefly about his wife.


A Jay-Z inspired move? The singer's husband claimed his wife steals his routines


When asked if he watches the Single Ladies star's performances, the 40-year-old jokingly said: 'She's a magnificent performer. I steal routines from her. She steals from me.'

Referring to 28-year-old's chart-topping single Crazy in Love - which he also featured in - he added: 'The 'uh-oh' dance - that was me.'

Knowing the hip-hop star seldom speaks about his relationship with his wife, presenter Ross pushed him for further details, asking if she had performed the now famous Single Ladies dance for him.

Again he joked: 'I actually created that dance too - that was me again. I wouldn't really tell anyone but you asked. I wouldn't want to make myself seem more important.'

The rap star also spoke of his relationship with President Barack Obama saying: 'I don't want to overstate it. I know who he is. I've never been to the White House. I've been invited but I've been on tour with this album.'

Ross and Jay-Z - whose real name is Shawn Carter - bantered about The Brits and the former's parodic gangster ensemble which he showcased at the awards.

When the presenter offered to rap for him, Carter replied: 'I don't think that would be cool.'

He also revealed he still calls P Diddy - formerly Puff Daddy - Puff, saying: 'If he changes his name back, I'll still be there.'

Meanwhile, regardless of who created her slick choreography, it is doubtful any fan in Trinidad was disappointed by Beyonce's performance last night

Ashlee Simpson's turreted Hollywood mansion may be the stuff of dreams, but the singer has put the $4million villa on the market.

The 25-year-old singer and actress bought the five bedroom, six bathroom property in 2007 for $4.5million before she married Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz.

But now that she is keen to expand her brood, perhaps five rooms just won't be enough.

Ashlee was spotted out and about in Los Angeles yesterday as she made her way to a hair salon.

In skinny grey jeans, silver pumps and clutching an oversized black bag, the 25-year-old singer who was accompanied by a friend, popped into Starbucks before heading to celebrity stylist Ken Paves hair salon in West Hollywood.

Contrary to her rock chick image, pictures of the singer's home reveal quite a traditional side.

Estate agents Sotheby's Realty described the home as 'ideal for discerning clients with stunning views of the hills and canyon.'

Ashlee has been in New York since November after reprising her role as Roxie Hart in the Broadway musical production Chicago.

Her final show was on February 7 but she stayed in the Big Apple to help her Fall Out Boy rocker husband Pete Wentz prepare for his new collection at the city's Fashion Week.

Pete, 31, is currently on hiatus from the band and this week was concentrating his efforts on his fashion label Clandestine Industries as he showed off his Autumn Winter Fall 2010 collection.

And he shocked the audience when, at the end of the show, he took his ovation from the crowd as he was wheeled on to the catwalk strapped to a gurney, dressed in a straight-jacket and Hannibal Lecter style face mask.

'She will not wear trousers, only dresses. I put a pair of trousers on her and turn and leave the room and straight away the trousers are off and a dress is on instead!
'The other day, Kate showed her some gold-colored sneakers thinking she might like to wear them, and she looked at them and said, "Oh mommy, these are lovely, but they're boy shoes.'"

'She's sweet, but she's very strong-willed -- just like her mother,' she added.

She has stepped out with a make-up bag, has been seen browsing for make-up and has sported high heels.

But mother Katie has been criticised for allowing her to wear red lipstick on a trip the theatre in New York recently.

Adam Lambert Doing 'Tonight Show' 2.0

NBC may be mum about the guests for the revamped version of Jay Leno's show but the singer offered the announcement himself.


To help ease the pressure that Jay Leno may face on his comeback to "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" that cost Conan O'Brien his job, Adam Lambert is brought in as guest. Through his official site, the singer posted on "Upcoming Appearance" the announcement that he will be performing "Music Again" when the show returns to its old clock.

Adam is scheduled for the Tuesday, March 2 episode, meaning he would be the second guest on the revamped version of the late night talk show. Jamie Foxx had been revealed as the first guest. However, NBC has remained secretive in confirming who will be Leno's guests although the premiere date is approaching.

Meanwhile, the network has started airing the promo of "Tonight Show" 2.0 with several different versions. One of them sees Leno behind the wheel of a sports car with the number "10". When he switches gear, the number changes to 11:35, indicating the move from the primetime slot to the old one.

Pictures: Lady GaGa Kicks Off Monster Ball U.K. Tour in Manchester

'We were doing another show in the United States... but I got very bored, so I threw it away,' she told the crowd during the February 18 concert.

Lady GaGa has begun the U.K. leg of her Monster Ball tour Thursday, February 18 at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester. A big illuminated catwalk was built on stage for her performances which were opened with Semi Precious Weapons and Alphabeat.



She opened the show with "Dance in the Dark" followed by "Just Dance" and "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich". An unreleased track called "Vanity" and a more familiar tune "The Fame" were then brought forward to treat her screaming Little Monsters.



Bringing a keytar and wearing black-and-white stripped outfit, GaGa sang "Money Honey". After performing "Telephone" live for the very first time on tour, she sat down behind the piano and delivered "Brown Eyes" verses. A while later, she changed her costume to a black leotard and invaded the stage with "Teeth".



During the gig, GaGa once told her U.K. devotees that she ditched a performance in U.S. to play in the country. "We were doing another show in the United States... but I got very bored, so I threw it away," she said. The Manchester show was closed with "Bad Romance" performance.




Lady GaGa can next be seen rocking Liverpool Arena on February 24 and London's O2 Arena two days later. When the U.K. leg is finished, she will head up to New Zealand, Australia and Japan for a series of concerts. More detailed info about her forthcoming show can be seen on her MySpace.
