Can't sing, can't dance: Katie Price pouts her way through comical performance and admits to miming

By Jessica Satherley

Surrounded by male dancers, Katie mimes her way through the song during the GMTV performance

Some pop stars try their hardest to disguise their miming on stage, but not Katie Price.

The glamour model, turned fashion designer, turned author, turned pop singer carried out a brazen performance of Free To Love Again on GMTV yesterday morning and admitted she wasn’t even singing.

‘It makes me realise how hard it is to perform and sing, so credit to the performers out there’, she told presenter Emma Crosby.

But at least the star admitted she’s not the greatest singer and joked that the media would no doubt pick up on the fact that she mimed.

Unfortunately even her miming leaves a lot to be desired as she carried on mouthing the lyrics after the track had finished playing.

The 32-year-old’s choice of outfit made sure attention was fixed on her, even if chart success is unlikely.

Mime master: The former glamour model admitted that she wasn't singing live

Gothic-inspired: Katie and her dancers wore the same amount of make-up as each other and all wore PVC trousers

She wore a shimmering silver top, black PVC trousers, faux fur jacket, skyscraper heels combined with her hair stood on end, Jedward-style.

Katie was accompanied in the Gothic-styled performance by four male dancers, who wore just as much make-up as she did together with leather trousers and corsets .

Along with her admissions regarding her singing, she revealed that she neither wrote nor produced the track.

Her single is predicted to be a flop according to figures from midweek chart placings

Flying high: Katie is lifted overhead by the dancers during the GMTV performance

‘I’m not a singer, this is just something I do for fun….I’m not interested in chart positions or number ones, I’m doing this purely for fun…whether people like it or not I’m doing it’, she said.

Luckily she doesn’t mind how well the song does, because chart figures showed today the surgically-enhanced star will fail to even make the top 40.

Despite her promotional appearances this week to plug the single, midweek chart placings show she is on course to make only number 59 following its release on Monday.

To justify the flop, she told press: ‘I’m doing it because I enjoy doing it, it’s not like my main job and I need to get a number one to get signed up by a record company.

Katie was interviewed by GMTV's Emma Crosby and Andrew Castle to promote the single

Gennaro Castaldo of music retailer HMV said: ‘Katie Price is obviously a hugely successful celebrity who knows how to engage with her fans, particularly when it comes to her books, DVDs and other merchandise, but some people seem to be drawing a line when it comes to her singing.’

Price is still determined to perform at G-A-Y in London though and isn’t letting her lack of singing talent get her down.

Her debut solo single follows her duet with Peter Andre in 2006 with A Whole New World and had also tried to represent the UK for Eurovision with her song Not Just Anybody but struggled to hit the right notes.

Kylie turns into a Grecian goddess as she launches new album Aphrodite in Ibiza

By Sara Nathan and Sarah Bull

Grecian goddess: Kylie Minogue wears a sexy white and gold dress as she performs tracks from her new album Aphrodite in Ibiza last night

Her latest album is called Aphrodite, so was it only fitting that Kylie Minogue dress like a Grecian goddess for the launch in Ibiza.

The 42-year-old singer looked stunning as she showed off her incredible figure in a white and gold dress which featured cut out panels and thigh-high splits on both sides.

Kylie launched the new record with an intimate gig for lucky fans at Pacha nightclub on the party island last night.

Sexy: The outfit, which featured thigh-high splits, showed off the 42-year-old's stunning figure

The show saw Kylie perform tracks off her 11th album, as well as her first single from the record - All The Lovers.

Talking about the song, Kylie said: 'As I was recording it, I knew that All The Lovers had to be the first single - it sums up the euphoria of the album perfectly.

'It gives me goosebumps so I’m really excited to hear what everyone thinks of it.'

Dancefloor diva: Hundreds of fans crammed into the nightclub for the show

Kylie's performance came after she met the press earlier in the day and answered questions about her future.

She said she has absolutely no plans to give up her workaholic lifestyle five years after battling breast cancer, and announced a new worldwide tour for next year.

The album has already gone to number one in eight countries - including Britain.

And Miss Minogue looked on fine form in a dazzling white minidress on the Spanish island of Ibiza.

She said she hoped to find a 'nice balance' between her private and personal life, admitting; 'I have made vast improvements in the past few years.'

And as her little sister Dannii prepares to give birth to her first child this month, the Australian star said; 'I would love a family one day - who knows, we'll see about it.'

Any questions? Radio presenter Emma B holds a press conference for Kylie at the album launch

Despite this, the singer said she had big plans for her career - and wanted to direct a film.

She said: 'I'm a glutton for punishment. I want to take it even further.
'I would like to go behind the camera, I have got a very bossy side that likes to come out.

'I want to do more acting, its weird to think that's where my career started.'

Goodness me! Kylie feigns mock surprise before bursting into laughter as she answers a question from a journalist

Speaking about the tour, the star revealed her love her Spanish boyfriend Andreas, saying the name of the album proved the record was for lovers.

She said: 'The title says it all.'

Miss Minogue, 42, revealed she could not as wild on the dancefloor as; 'I have to take care of myself,' but revealed that she relaxed by playing an online version of Boggle.

She laughed; 'I'm a word girl.'

Aphrodite is Kylie's first studio album in three years, since her 2007 release X, and is out now.

I thought I was wearing black shorts and flowers? Alexandra Burke and Pixie Lott opt for almost identical outfits as they perform at T4 On The Beach

By Sarah Bull

They are constantly having to come up with inventive new outfits for their various public appearances.

But today Alexandra Burke and Pixie Lott made the biggest fashion faux pas of all when they arrived at T4 On The Beach at Weston-super-Mare wearing virtually identical outfits.

While Alexandra, 21, took to the stage in tiny black hotpants, a pink bikini top and a T-shirt top with added flowers, Pixie went for a similar combination of a black playsuit with a flowered Hawaiian Lei.

Identical: Alexandra Burke (left) and Pixie Lott wore incredibly similar outfits of black shorts and coloured flowers as they took to the stage at T4 On The Beach in Weston-super-Mare today

But despite their very similar outfits, both Alexandra and Pixie wowed the crowds with their performances at the annual music event.

After her performance, Alexandra took to her Twitter page and said: 'OMG! T4 was amazing - I've had one of the best days of my life !! Thank u 4ur love and support! The crowd was on fire!! Xx'

The one-day music festival is in its sixth year, and has proved even more popular with fans keen to catch a glimpse of their favourite pop acts.

Organiser Cath Lovesey said: 'We first came to Weston six years ago and have come back every year - it's a fantastic venue.'

Leggy ladies: Alexandra performed a selection of her hits for the crowd with some sexy backing dancers

Cheeky: Alexandra's tight and revealing outfit showed off her impressive body and toned curves

Since winning The X Factor in 2008, Alexandra's career has gone from strength to strength.

And now, with three number one single under her belt, Alexandra is hoping to break America with her new track Start Without You.

Last month, the star was spotted filming the video for the new track in Los Angeles - showing off her amazing figure in a pair of denim hotpants and a cropped red and white T-shirt.

Start Without You is produced by RedOne who engineered her previous top ten hit Broken Heels.

The song recently leaked on to the internet and was reviewed by one fan as a 'summer song in the vein of Boney M's Hooray Hooray It's A Holiday.'

Acrobatic: Pixie Lott performed a series of energetic dance routines in a black playsuit and biker boots

What a crowd! Pixie waves to the thousands of fans at the one-day music event

Meanwhile, Essex-born Pixie performed a variety of her most famous hits including Cry Me Out and Mama Do.

As well as producing hit after hit, Pixie is also increasing her personality profile, and joined The X Factor judging panel earlier this week alongside Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole.

Speaking about her role on the show, Pixie said: 'I am really excited to be one of the guest judges. It's a new experience for me and I'm looking forward to it.'

The Saturdays: The girl band treated fans to a variety of their famous hits, including new single Missing You

1,2,3...4? The band was missing Mollie King, who has been left on crutches after a horsefly gave her cellutitis

Other stars who attended the event included The Saturdays, who were performing without bandmate Mollie King, who is on crutches after contracting cellutitis when she was bitten by a horsefly.

But the other four girls, Frankie Sandford, Rochelle Wiseman, Vanessa White and Una Healy, more than made up for Mollie's absence with a sexy performance in racy cut out T-shirts and bikini tops.

Before the band's performance, Mollie tweeted: 'So so sad I can't make this wkend! If I was able to sit up I would be there in a flash, but I have to lie down with my foot up! :-( So sad!'

And the feeling was most definitely mutual - with all of Mollie's bandmates tweeting that they were desperately missing her from the T4 On The Beach stage.

Eye candy: JLS wore a selection of coordinated outfits as they took to the stage accompanied by a chorus of fans' screams

Sexy lady: Ellie Goulding was the second act of the day, much to the delight of the fans

And while the male members of the audience were undoubtedly enjoying the abundance of pop princesses, male eye candy was provided in the form of stars including Dizzee Rascal, Taio Cruz and JLS.

JLS wore coordinating outfits of grey, white and red as they bounded onto the stage and performed a series of energetic dance routines.

But the pressure of performing in front of thousands of fans at the event got a bit too much for Jedward, aka John and Edward Grimes.

During a particularly difficult move in their Ghostbusters routine, Edward,18, landed awkwardly on his left foot and was rushed to hospital in an ambulance with what is believed to be a broken leg.

Jedward's Edward Grimes rushed to hospital after falling over during Ghostbusters routine at T4 On The Beach

By Sarah Bull

In pain: Edward Grimes of Jedward is rushed to hospital after injuring himself during T4 On The Beach

They are famous for their energetic dance routines.

But Edward Grimes of The X Factor favourite duo Jedward found there are some drawbacks to their exuberant moves as he fell over while performing Ghostbusters at T4 On The Beach today.

The 18-year-old singer was bounding around the stage with his twin brother John when he twisted his leg during a particularly difficult move.

Struggling to cope: John Grimes follows as his twin is loaded into the ambulance

He was then taken to a local hospital where he was being treated for his injuries - believed to either be a broken leg or twisted knee ligaments.

Jedward’s manager Louis Walsh said he was concerned for the singer's health, but couldn’t confirm how serious the injury was.

He told the Daily Mail: ‘It was live TV and that’s what can happen on live TV. They were excited to be performing in front of 70,000 people and we hope he’s alright.'

After the fall, Edward clutched his leg in agony and struggled to get up as he tried to continue the routine.

However, ever the professional, Edward performed the rest of the routine either on his knees or hopping around the stage.

Before the fall: The pair perform in front of thousands of fans at the music event

Ouch! Edward grimaces in pain as he realises how serious his injury is

Clearly in pain, he finished the performance before giving twin John a huge high five as he completed the routine.

After coming off stage, an ambulance was called for the teen singer, who looked upset and worried as he was taken to hospital.

And he wasn't the only one concerned about his injuries - John was right behind his twin as he was loaded into the ambulance and rushed to hospital.

The accident: Edward crashes to the ground after accidentally putting his foot down wrong during the routine

Painful: He takes a brief second to realise what has happened before getting up and continuing the routine

While some fans took to Twitter to mock Edward's accident, others were genuinely concerned for The X Factor star.

A spokesperson for the Irish duo said: 'We think he's broken his leg and at the very least has badly twisted the ligament in his knee.'

Professional: He struggles up and performs the rest of the routine by hopping around on stage or on his knees

After Edward was taken to hospital, JLS, who performed later in the day, sent get well wishes to the hair-raising star.

On Twitter, Oritsé wrote: 'BIG RESPECT to JEDWARD. 1 of them broke their ankle on stage & still carried on till the end! Say wat u want but that's a performer. Oritsé.'

And soon after Oritsé's comments, dedicated Jedward fans started a new trending topic on Twitter called #GetWellSoonEdwardGrimes.

Pink steals the show at Wireless Festival with Funhouse performance... while Beth Ditto goes for hedgehog chic

By Sarah Bull and Chris Johnson

Grand entrance: Pink descends onto the main stage at the Wireless Festival

Her last album was called Funhouse, so it was no surprise that Pink decided to open her set at the Wireless Festival in flamboyant style.

The 30-year-old star descended onto the main stage in acrobatic fashion from a giant party style box hoisted on a crane, dressed in a plunging little black dress with a frilly red garter around one thigh.

She then ripped off the sexy dress to reveal a bejewelled swimsuit and fishnet tights underneath - much to the delight of the crowd.

Sexy: The singer wore a plunging black dress over fishnet tights and a bejewelled swimsuit, with a red garter on her thigh

After opening her set with the title track from her 2008 album Funhouse, Pink continued to perfom hits including Just Like A Pill and a mash-up of covers of The Who, The Police and Green Day.

Talking to the crowd, Pink said: 'There's a lot of people here. Tonight is a dream for me!'

Fans at the Hyde Park event had been hoping to see Gossip frontwoman Beth Ditto join Pink on stage after the rotund singer had previously pledged to 'help Pink out with her set' by giving her a piggy back.

Ditto asked the crowd, 'Do you think Pink will let me give her a piggy back?' before launching into Gossip's most famous hit Standing In The Way Of Control

Excited: Pink thanked the crowds before performing a set of her famous hits

Cheeky: Pink's outfit revealed her lean, toned figure as she performed in Hyde Park

The 29-year-old singer opted for a hedgehog style outfit for the music event, drawing jagged lines on her face instead of eyebrows, and wore a spiky top over a black dress.

And as well as performing Gossip hits, the band also performed a thrilling version of Tina Turner's What's Love Got To Do With It.

Other acts to take to the stage included Daisy Dares You and The Ting Tings.

Outrageous: Ditto had also drawn jagged black lines on her face instead of eyebrows

Tings Tings lead singer Katie White provided some much-needed colour in a red, Western-style jumpsuit, which she accessorised with a matching red electric guitar.

Alphabeat had also been due to appear at the festival, but were forced to cancel after band member Anders SG was taken ill.

The group wrote on Twitter: 'As u may have read SG began to struggle with some throat problems a few days ago & it isn't better. He's lost his voice and is ill.

Lady in red: Katie White of The Ting Tings takes to the stage

Thrilled: Daisy Coburn and her band Daisy Dares You appeared extremely excited to play at the festival

'Therefore, we're very sorry and sad to announce that we have to cancel Wireless this weekend! We hope he'll get well soon!'

And it wasn't just famous faces on stage at the event - there were also a few in the crowd as well.

While Glee star Cory Monteith attracted attention from hoards of female fans who couldn't resist telling him he is 'so amazing'.

Boxer David Haye and singer Darius Campbell also caught up backstage at the Barclaycard Bar, before being distracted by pretty MTV presenter Laura Whitmore who Darius told, 'You look even better in the flesh than I remember!'

The Wireless Festival continues over the weekend, with LCD Sound System headlining tomorrow night, and Jay-Z and Lily Allen finishing things off on Sunday night.

Sultry singer Vanessa Paradis is in the zone as she performs at festival in Paris

By Mail Online Reporter

In the zone: Vanessa Paradis looks thrilled as she performs in Paris as part of the Solidays 2010 festival

With her eyes closed and a look of pure joy on her face, Vanessa Paradis looked as though she was completely in the zone as she performed in Paris yesterday.

The 37-year-old actress, who has two children with actor Johnny Depp, wore a chic casual outfit of a black vest top and grey jeans at the Solidays festival.

The performance was a return to the stage for Vanessa, who has recently been busy promoting her new movie L'Arnacoeur (Heartbreaker).

A world of her own: Vanessa plays up for the crowd at the festival

The French film, which tells the story of a professional relationship splitter, played by Romain Duris, who falls in love with Vanessa's character when he is hired to break up her engagement.

It has already proved a huge hit in France, and Vanessa thinks she knows why, explaining in a recent interview: 'It's an amazing story that takes place between a French woman and an American man when travelling wasn't as easy as it is today.

'It's a crazy beautiful story between two very strong personalities. It's a love story

Casual: The 37-year-old wore a casual outfit of a black vest top and grey jeans

Emotional: Vanessa looked emotionally involved in the performance throughout

One noticeable absence from Vanessa's performance yesterday was her partner Johnny Depp, who has recently finished shooting The Tourist alongside Angelia Jolie.

And Vanessa says despite both her and Johnny proving to be successful in Hollywood, she would never want to work with him.

She said: 'I don't know if I can act facing Johnny, to tell you the truth, we've made music together, but we've never acted together.'

L'Arnacoeur (Heartbreaker) opens in the UK on July 2.
