The hilarious ended with Cruise making a valiant attempt at doing the splits, which he only half-completed.

Cruise had earlier launched the ceremony under the guise of profanity-spewing Grossman.

In the opening parody, Grossman cast Twilight stars Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson as mustached cops, used Michael Cera as a human bookend and yelled at The Karate Kid star Jaden Smith as father Will Smith looked on.

Funny moment: Cruise appeared more than happy to let Lopez spank him...

...But the singer pretended she wasn't impressed when he tried to repeat the move

Also taking to the stage at the star-packed show was Katy Perry, who performed a duet with Snoop Dogg.

Russell Brand celebrates his 35th birthday... with a party hat and a low-key dinner

By Lizzie Smith

How do I look? Russell Brand poses in his birthday hat as he celebrated turning 35 yesterday

Rusell Brand's parties used to be raucous affairs, with the renowned hellraiser causing chaos.

But the former sex and drug addict is a reformed man - as proved by his low-key 35th birthday party last night.

The comedian, now a big star in the U.S., spent the day at a friend's house in Beverly Hills.

The only sign of celebration was his child's party hat, a spotted Happy Birthday cardboard creation.

In the evening Get Him To The Greek star Brand and his fiancé Katy Perry went for dinner with friends at The Little Door in Los Angeles.

They were dressed smartly for the low-key surprise party, with Katy swapping her sometimes boundary pushing stage outfits for a demure pencil skirt and blouse.

Low-key: Russell is a new man, with a cup of tea the only drink of the day

Russell looked equally grown-up in black leather jeans, T-shirt and a crocheted waistcoat, although he maintained his trademark rock star look.

The couple plan to wed this year, with Brand planning a similarly low-key stag night before his wedding to I Kissed A Girl singer Katy.

'What would be the point?' he told the Sun.

'I'm not drinking, don't do drugs any more and I only sleep with Katy, so it would be more fun to just sit in an allotment and stare at a bunch of carrots.'

Guess who's back? Eminem hints he may tour Britain again... nine years after his last one was branded homophobic

By Mail Online Reporter

Saluting the fans: Eminem waves as he leaves Maida Vale studios in London today where he performed some live tracks on Fearne Cotton's show

His overtly homophobic lyrics have got him into hot water before on this side of the Atlantic.

But during an appearance on Jonathan Ross, U.S. rapper Eminem hinted he may tour Britain again, saying he isn't ruling anything out.

The star is already lined up to play T In The Park in Scotland this summer.

However, the last time he toured the country in 2001, gay rights group OutRage! protested outside his shows, saying his lyrics were homophobic.

Although Eminem claims his lyrics are not meant to be taken seriously, gay rights groups objected to his use of the word 'faggot' and called him a 'gay-basher'.

Asked about performing more gigs in Britain, he told Ross on his Friday night chat show, to be screened tonight: 'I'm taking it as it comes, I certainly wouldn't rule it out.'

Eminem was to perform in London in 2005 but cancelled the European leg of his world tour citing 'exhaustion', although it later emerged he was addicted to sleeping pills.

Shady's back: The rapper performs on Jonathan Ross's Friday night chat show, to be screened tonight, where he hints he may tour the UK again after nine years

He returned for a secret show at the O2 Academy in Islington in 2004 - the last time he performed in London.

Eminem also tells Ross how LL Cool J, another guest on the show, has been his biggest influence.

He said: 'Hearing him made me want to rap, that's what did it for me.'

Earlier today, the 37-year-old, who is set to release his seventh studio album Recovery on June 22, appeared on Fearne Cotton's Radio 1 show.

Speaking about a new collaborative track with Pink, called Won't Back Down, he described her as 'a rebel'.

The song is currently available for fans to hear on the internet.

Making a stand: The rapper also talks about how LL Cool J has been his biggest influence

He said: 'I've always respected what she [Pink] does.

'When we did the track I heard her on it and knew vocally she'd smash it.'
Barbadian star Rihanna also makes an appearance on the album on a track called Love The Way You Lie.

He told Cotton: 'The same thing with Rihanna [as Pink]. It would be more special with her on it.'

Eminem played a two-song set for a special Radio 1 Live Lounge, recorded at London's Maida Vale studio.

He played single Not Afraid and his 2000 single Stan (which sampled Dido) which mixed into a cover of Jason Derulo's Forever Means Forever.

As he left, he was mobbed by around 100 fans who were lining the streets outside.

Curvy Mariah Carey keeps mum on pregnancy rumours as she bursts onto the stage

By Daily Mail Reporter

Belting it out: Mariah Carey hit a high note as she performed in Arkansas today

A voluptuous Mariah Carey took to the stage in Arkansas today amid mounting rumours she's expecting a baby.

The singer, who put her curves on show in a fitted scoop-neck gown, belted out her biggest hits at a performance for Wal-Mart shareholders in Fayetteville.

But she kept mum on the pregnancy rumours and just focused on the job instead

Her husband Nick Cannon, 29, spoke on his US radio show about the reports that Carey, 41, is expecting their first child.

He said:'I'm pretty sure that when my wife is ready to make any announcement it won't be to the media, to the public, first.

'She'll tell her family, she'll tell her friends, and then, you know, when she's ready to share with the rest of the world, who is her extended family and friends, then she'll let everybody know.'

Baby talk: There are growing rumours she's expecting a child

Cannon also joked about possible names for their child.

He said: 'We're gonna do it like George Foreman.

'We're gonna name all of our kids Mariah no matter if they're boys or girls... Mariah No. 1, Boy Mariah, Man Mariah, Tall Mariah. It's gonna be a house full of people named Mariah.'

Mariah's spokeswoman Cindi Berger has refused to deny the pregnancy speculation, saying only: 'I'm not at liberty to discuss Mariah's personal life at this moment.'

How you doin'? Matt LeBlanc reverts back to Friends alter ego Joey as he flirts with female fans in London

By Sarah Bull

Charming: Matt LeBlanc flirts with two female fans outside an Italian restaurant

He is most famous for playing Italian lothario Joey Tribbiani in hit U.S. sitcom Friends.

And despite sporting a new grey-haired looked, it seems Matt LeBlanc hasn't lost any of his charm as he was spotted flirting with two pretty female fans in London earlier this week.

The 42-year-old actor may even have used Tribbiani's famous pick-up line 'How you doin'?' as he chatted and posed for photographs with the women.

LeBlanc, who has largely been out of the spotlight since Friends ended in 2004, looked svelte in a short-sleeved grey shirt and smart black trousers as he emerged from an Italian restaurant.

The actor is currently in London to film his role in Episodes, a new BBC2 comedy-about-a-comedy series.

He plays a parody of himself in the show and is humiliated when he is asked to audition to play 'Matt LeBlanc' in a new programme.

Up close and personal: The 42-year-old actor poses for photo with one of the women

Despite having little success in Friends spinoff Joey, and films including the Charlie's Angels franchise, LeBlanc is hoping his appearance in the BBC show will put him back on the map.

It is also rumoured he could be starring in a big-screen version of Friends, alongside co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry.

How you doin'? LeBlanc, as Joey Tribbiani, flirts with Elle Macpherson's character in Friends

Talking about a possible Friends film at an event earlier this week, Cox said she and Aniston have come up with a plan to get the six actors reunited in front of a camera - although she refused to reveal exactly what the plan involved.

She said: 'We’ve got a good idea. There is a good way to get us all together. Jennifer told me, or someone told her, or she came up with the idea herself.

'I don’t think it will ever happen, but it would be a great way to get us all together!'
